Over the past several weeks, members of the Asheboro, Randleman, and Franklinville fire departments have been working side by side to sharpen their swift water rescue skills.
Boat operations focused on navigating moving water and positioning crews to rescue victims through the windows of flooded structures. Members also entered simulated rushing water, where they practiced maneuvering around dangerous obstacles and reaching victims stranded on rocks, trees, vehicles, and other objects.
This hands-on training helps prepare crews to move quickly, operate safely, and make effective rescues during flooding and other swift water emergencies.
